Artist. Researcher. Intervening in print.
About
Philippa Bandurek Bradbury is a UK based artist and doctoral researcher at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. Her practice explores voice, miscommunication and the systems that shape who gets to be heard.
Working across drawing, print, paper and found material, she often starts with existing printed matter, including literary texts, maps and rule books. She draws on the visual languages of gameplay, instruction and mapping, and is increasingly interested in how surface, touch, wear and material traces can be used to record people and places.
Alongside her studio practice, her PhD investigates how graphic communication design might move beyond minimum accessibility towards richer and more relational reading experiences for deafblind audiences. Her work moves between exhibition, research and participation, with drawing used as a way of thinking, recording and testing ideas.
